A standing punch bag, or Body Opponent Bag (BOB), is a free-standing target shaped like a human torso on a weighted base. The P081 stands 180cm tall, fills with water or dry sand to about 100kg, and grips the floor with 12 rubber suction pads. No drilling is required.
The details that change how a bag feels after the first ten minutes — not the ones that look good on a spec sheet.
This is the reason most Singapore buyers choose a standing bag. There is no ceiling hook, no wall bracket, no landlord conversation and no reinstatement cost when you move out. Fill the base, stand it up, start work.
A cylindrical bag teaches you to hit a wall. BOB has a jaw, a chin, a solar plexus and ribs, so you learn where a punch actually lands. Trainees who switch from a round bag usually find their hooks were sitting too high.
The high-density spring under the torso absorbs impact and snaps the body back upright. That rebound gives you a rhythm to work against and lets you drill combinations without waiting for a bag to stop swinging.
The underside of the base carries 12 rubber suction pads that grip smooth flooring. Combined with a filled base the unit stays planted through hard combinations instead of walking across the room.
Water is clean, free and easy to drain when you move. Dry sand is denser and produces a heavier, more stable unit. You can also fill with water and add sand for a middle ground.

The five things buyers ask us most about this product.
No. The P081 is entirely free-standing. You fill the base with water or dry sand and stand it on the floor — there is no ceiling hook, wall bracket or fixing of any kind. This makes it the practical choice for rented homes, HDB flats and condominiums where drilling into structural walls is restricted.
Water is easier: it costs nothing, fills in minutes with a hose, and drains away when you need to move the bag. Dry sand is denser, so the same base ends up heavier and steadier under hard punches. If you plan to leave the bag in one place, use sand. If you may move house, use water.
A properly filled base with its 12 suction pads engaged will stay put through normal training on smooth flooring such as tile or vinyl. On carpet or textured floors the pads cannot seal, so place a rubber gym mat underneath. Underfilling the base is the most common cause of a bag that creeps.
Standing bags win on installation, targeting realism and rebound; hanging bags win on raw resistance, swing and long-term durability. If you cannot drill, the decision is made for you. Our hanging vs standing punching bag comparison works through both sides properly.
Yes for body and head kicks — the torso and spring column handle them well. Avoid heavy low kicks aimed at the base or the lower column, since that is not what the spring mount is designed to absorb. For dedicated low-kick work a 130cm hanging bag is the better tool.
